State Football Runner-Up
The Remsen St. Mary’s Hawks football team brought home the runner-up trophy and banner for Iowa’s 8-player division. They lost to the undefeated defending state champion Don Bosco team from Gilbertville by a final score of 52-14. The Hawks end their 2017 season with an 11-1 record. The Hawks were welcomed home to Remsen with a fire truck-led caravan and a ceremony at the Sue Treinen Memorial gym.

St. Mary's Receives Grant
St. Mary’s Schools recently received a $400 grant from Remsen’s local telephone service, WesTel, and Aureon, an Iowa-based telecommunications and consulting service. The grant was used for paint in the classrooms this past summer.

Strong Spiritual Life

St. Mary's Recycling
This Saturday, Sept. 2, is the first recycling date of the school year. They are accepting all sizes of cardboard and all types of paper, including farm herbicide and insecticide boxes (without chemical spills), and untreated seed and drug-free feed sacks without plastic.
